Dominos to use robots for Pizza delivery in Europe
We saw a news article this morning that Dominos is going to start delivering Pizzas in some European cities using robots created by Starship Technologies. While overseen by humans, these robots can deliver up to a two mile radius. Quite cool. We wonder how much better this is going to be in comparison to Uber’s driverless taxis. A similar concept, reducing the need for humans (sorry Deliveroo drivers). Of course, these robots are far smaller and will likely stick to the pavement. They may be a potential trip hazard but seem less likely to cause an accident, assuming they know the green cross code! In years to come we may even see the introduction of the robot lane next to the cycle lane. We wonder how Londoner’s will take the extra squeeze on the road. That said, it’s marvellous to see the innovation. It’s amazing to see how far this type of technology has come and that these devices are now being tested in the commercial world. We look forward to seeing what innovations come next. To read more about the innovation visit http://bit.ly/2sgZPnn.
